Apple Maple Oatmeal
This recipe is free of the common eight food allergens: Wheat/Gluten, Eggs, Soy, Milk, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, Shellfish. It is also free of corn, sugar, and alcohol.
Add a little flavor to that bland oatmeal in your breakfast bowl!
Ingredients
1 serving of gluten-free oatmeal*
1 teaspoon palm kernel shortening, optional
1/2 apple, grated
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon raisins
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
dash nutmeg
dash cloves
Directions
Make oatmeal according to directions, eliminating any of the 8 common food allergens such as butter. Add the palm kernel shortening during cooking for a smooth texture. Once oatmeal is cooked to a thick texture, stir in the remaining ingredients, cover and let sit 5 minutes before serving.
Serves 1
* Oats are naturally gluten-free but in standard farming practices, oats crops are rotated with wheat crops thereby causing cross contamination.
